Lifestyle photography - where I capture personal moments in time forever.
Is it arrogant for me to say that the moments in time that I capture will endure forever? Perhaps it is. However, we are in the digital media era and our photographs are no longer tethered to film negatives and/or photographic paper as it was a few decades ago. The digital images we capture today can be archived on a variety of media like CD or DVD discs, flash cards and computer hard drives; even online storage services are available to us. How long will the images we save on this media last? If they last longer than us, our children and grandchildren, then that’s forever as far as I’m concerned! That can be guaranteed by the technology of today and can only get better in the future.
I constantly remind my friends both new and old to “take pictures” – save those moments. If they have new babies, new grandchildren, graduating teenagers or perhaps young adults who may have interest in a modeling career I emphatically say, “Find a photographer with good equipment and shoot some images”. However you would find a photographer to photograph family portraits, weddings, or modeling sessions my suggestion would be to make sure that they will take a personal interest in your needs. If possible, try to find a photographer that has been recommended by people you know or trust and then view some examples of his or her work. If possible, ask them if they are willing to guarantee their work and will they offer a refund of the majority of their fee if you are not satisfied.
