Photography Sessions

I prefer to have photo sessions in my studio where I can control the lighting to achieve the most pleasing and creative images possible. Before I start a session, I would like to interview prospective clients to determine what kind of images they are interested in (i.e. portraits, creative full-length, artistic, etc.). Once I have established a session theme, I will suggest appropriate clothing to bring to the scheduled shoot. The actual interview can be either in person, a telephone conversation, or by email communication.

A typical studio photography session will take about one hour but may last longer if the client(s) wish to change clothing and/or makeup. For example, photographing prospective models for additions to their portfolios generally takes several hours because there are multiple clothing changes and studio lighting and props adjustments. Portrait sessions usually take the least amount of time (under one hour). The best images are captured when the subject has a minimal amount of distractions and has become relaxed in the photographic environment. That is why I ask that the number of people present during a session be limited to the client(s) being photographed. The one exception is that I require a parent or legal guardian to be present on location if the person(s) being photographed is under 18 years of age.

During the shoot, I may show LCD images of various captures, but it will be at my discretion as part of the relaxation and posing adjustment process. After the session I will load the images into a computer for selection and post processing of the images. I may use Adobe Photoshop to correct imperfections or enhance images where I determine it to be appropriate. The final images should be available for the client in less than a week. The number of images and the media (i.e. prints and/or CD) will have been previously agreed to in advance according to my price schedule.

I stand by my work as a quality photographer and will refund most fees if you are unsatisfied for any valid reason.
